Interviewee: Because going to school we always passed the museum and going out backwards. They used to record the first flowers, wild flowers. There was always a great list in the museum of the time when it was brought in, they had to have seen it or something and I really got onto that. I think I learnt the names of wild flowers because of that. It was lovely. And they published it in the Herald every Thursday or Friday or whatever it was of the month. It was the first recordings of a flower that was really out and most of my field work was better there than at college or anything else. It started us off so well to recognise plants.
