Interviewee: I remember particularly that we helped to build Shottermill School swimming pool. That was great fun.
Interviewer: You helped to build it?
Interviewee: We helped to build it. As kids we had to out and do our bit there.
Interviewer: Digging a hole?
Interviewee: Digging and fiddling around with bits. I’m sure they didn’t do very much but they made us feel part of it. The worst thing of course was leaping into it on a cold, spring day and there was never any heating, that was awful.
