Interviewer: If you’d like to tell me a bit about Shottermill School.
Interviewee: Just a little bit there I used to be sent to. My Mother was the playground warder, but I suppose you’d call it assistant, and use to keep an eye on us. So sometimes when I was little she used to walk me to school, but by 7 or 8 I was taking myself to school. Two things I remember about walking to school, one was walking into a lamp post and getting one black eye and the other was ducking under a bar and getting two black eyes, nearly knocking myself out.
