Interviewee: The Co–op had household goods and men’s and women’s fashion, sweet shop, tobacconists, groceries. It was fascinating because they had the old system where they put the money in a little container and screwed it up, pulled the handle and it shot off down to the cashier’s desk and came back a few seconds later with the change.
