Interviewee: I had pocket money which I used to collect, and I collected it to get my Brownie 127 camera. It took me, it was 27 shillings and sixpence if I remember rightly.
Interviewer: And where did you buy that from?
Interviewee: That I think again was at Glover’s, because they probably did cameras at the time. I remember standing there, outside Glover’s, trying to get my money together and a very, obviously rich, as far as I was concerned, Dad handed the son a £5 note. I couldn’t believe this, this was like coming along and saying “Would you like an Aston Martin?”, it was the equivalent. I couldn’t believe that anybody could have that amount of money. But I did finally get my 127.
